Charity Crane (1935 - 2008)
Charity was born in New York State and educated in Carmel, California; Brownsville, Texas; New York City; Baltimore, Maryland; and Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico.
Charity studied art in California at San Jose State College. She also studied with well-known artists at Monterey Peninsula College and in Mexico. She resumed studies with George de Groat in Carmel, California, in the mid-1980s and painted regularly with other former de Groat students in a Carmel studio.
Charity Crane's work has been shown at the Main Street Gallery, Bisbee, Arizona, and the Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation Gallery in Carmel Plaza. Her work has been included in shows at the Monterey Museum of Art, the Carl Cherry Foundation, and the Marjorie Evans Gallery.
