ANITA KAPLAN
I view all my paintings as an adventure. I love bright colors and bold lines, and enjoy exploring all sorts of techniques to achieve a variety of textures and patterns. Lately, I have become interested in various types of pastes that can be applied to canvas. One example is crackle paste, which has allowed me to experiment with mosaic textures. Another new interest is drawing free hand with pen and ink. I just allow movements to flow, and the discoveries are amazing! In the final analysis, "experimentation" is the key word for my personal expression.
I have won numerous prizes in juried shows on the Monterey Peninsula, and have been fortunate to have some of my works purchased by collectors in NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, and the Monterey Peninsula.
