Elizabeth Meyer

Elizabeth Meyer

Elizabeth Meyer was born in 1956 in New Brunswick, NJ. Her first paintings of winter landscapes and orchards blossoming in spring were inspired by Alfred Sisley and Camille Pisaro.

Elizabeth is a self-taught artist who paints from the heart; through her paintings she expresses her love of beauty.

In 1981 Elizabeth became a resident of the Monterey Peninsula and found painting the beauty of the Central Coast at every opportunity to be her new passion.

"The early California Plein Air painters opened a whole new way of looking at the sea, light, and color for me. My paintings became bolder and stronger in color, but still showed a unique femininity and quiet strength."

"To paint full time and live by the sea is without a doubt what brings such joy and happiness and daily inspiration as an artist."
