Diane Crago
With a Fine Arts Degree from University of Washington and extensive studies in Tokyo Japan, Diane Crago has been teaching painting and drawing for 45 years. Her work and teaching specialize in Impressionism, Fauvism, and the painting techniques from Renaissance through Modern Art.
In her own words:
I paint my personal paradise, a paradise that is eternally good at the same time as being eternally in a state of change.
My paradise includes a dissolution of forms, one thing becoming another and relationships constantly malleable and changing. In my work there is sometimes only a tenuous relationship between subject and ground…trees melting into sky, skies melting into forests and water becoming a color vibration that is ethereal as much as physical.
I employ the pulsating overlay of Impressionistic color, the Expressionistic emotionality of Fauvism and the philosophical certainty of classical design. I let my conversations with my memory determine where my painting will go.
I teach my students to find the voice within them that makes anxiety and discussions about AI art irrelevant, because who they are as an individual is what the rest of us are yearning to see.
Diane offers personalized classes and workshops for up to 25 in everything from two hour “paint and sip formats” to two day art therapy explorations. Workshops from 4 hours to four days are designed for beginners through advanced students to learn classical painting, impressionist painting, and abstraction. Classes are offered both online and in person throughout the west coast. Diane’s classes specialize in a private person to person experience in a group setting.
For art therapy Diane offers groups of any size a private therapeutic art experience. Workshops welcome total beginners through more advanced painters and offer an experience which combines instruction in painting and color with a relaxing interface into the philosophy of how art at every level offers insight into self and global healing.
