Julie Foudy
I was born in Oakland and I grew up in the Bay Area and have lived in Carmel,CA for 50 years
Most of my painting is realistic, but I also produce whimsical and religious work. Mainly working with acrylic paint, I have also worked in watercolor and produced clay works. While walking in our beautiful area, many nature paintings and sunsets were created. I enjoy painting animals and have also done portraits.
I received my Art degree from UC Berkeley. Then I continued taking private art classes and college classes in ceramics, watercolor and acrylic painting. These classes included workshops in various locations including the art institute at the Getty Museum.

Teaching elementary school children for 40 years, while in Carmel this provided many opportunities to work with children and adults through the arts. I started an Art Docent program and then trained parent volunteers to teach the children in their classrooms. All the work was displayed in school wide art shows. Developing a Family Art Night that was popular with the families was enriching.
I have had showings in numerous venues and galleries throughout the years. These include an individual show at the Monterey Convention Center, two best of show awards and numerous 1st place awards at the County Fair, Art display at the Monterey airport, work at the Salinas County Courthouse, and numerous local venues displaying and selling my work..
Painting is an act of love that brings fulfillment and joy to others. I hope to touch people’s lives and help them to reflect on the feelings, experiences and emotions that are experienced through the compelling images in my work.
My work can be found in:
Reflections Gallery, 270 Portola Plaza, Monterey and 480 Lighthouse Gallery, Pacific Grove
