Reflections: I grew up in a family of seven children on Long Island, NY. I attended Hofstra University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education with a minor in English Literature. In 1976 my husband and I moved to Basalt, Colorado, where I taught 3-8th grade Art. In 1985, we moved to Aptos, California and for the next 15 years, I taught at Monte Vista Christian Middle School. Then I moved up to the High School and taught 9th and 10th grade English, ESL and Art for 15 years. In 2014, I retired after 30 years of teaching, and I was hired by Pajaro Valley School District, where I taught 1st-3rd grade Art at Landmark Elementary.
Throughout the years, we have traveled and camped in many beautiful places such as Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Canada, Georgia, and California. For 8 years, I led European trips for my high school students. Being in and experiencing many beautiful states and countries has inspired me to pick up my brushes and paint again. I am a member of MBPAPA (Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association). Painting En Plein Air takes me outside to paint the landscapes that have inspired me all of my life.
California is a beautiful state, and being an avid hiker/camper, I choose to paint the beautiful landscapes that surround me. I am also a member of CCAA (Central Coast Art Association), Arts Council Santa Cruz, and Pajaro Valley Arts where I show my paintings throughout the year. Recently, I have joined Monterey Peninsula Art Forum, and I am looking forward to being apart of this Art community.
