Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation
Barbara Norton
I paint because I love to paint.
Painting is an expression of my heart and soul.
Painting represents my love for color and shapes in space.
Painting is capturing the moment, the essence of a place.
Being one with the land,
Abstracting from nature,
Being true to myself,
Painting for the sake of painting.
The last ten years, I've been abstracting from nature
with landscape painting, trying to capture the feeling
and the spirit of this magical land on the Monterey Peninsula.
Hopefully, some of my paintings invite the viewer
to their own place of discovery and beauty,
that touches their heart and soul.
My favorite line as a kid was, "I'm having lots of fun!"
I pass that experience of "fun" and joy to you.
Currently showing at MPAF Gallery on Cannery Row.
