The Pursuit of Enjoyment
I have been an avid amateur photographer for decades but began taking photographs more purposefully and developing skill at image enhancement with the advent of digital cameras and sophisticated post-processing software at the turn of the 21st century. To my delight, that technological transformation moved away from darkroom chemicals into digital computers, which allows me to more comfortably explore methods of artistic expression.
These images began life as photographs and I have morphed each of them in its own unique way with the use of software to break down the image forms into pieces and then systematically alter and reassemble them to create effects that a painter might produce. This series is an attempt to emphasize my impressions of various scenes.
