The Pursuit of Enjoyment
I've found two centers of enjoyment with photography - one in the experience of finding and recording pleasurable images while traveling both near and far, exercising the opportunity to play with cameras, lenses, and related equipment. The other is in the deliberate development (and increasingly, the redevelopment) of those images with computer software. The same original scene never looks quite the same twice, and even one occasion can be made to have a different look and feel through different development approaches. While photojournalists should find this inappropriate for their work, such manipulation is the essence of artistic endeavor.
