I am a retired elementary school teacher (retired in 2003), artist (Painting: acrylic and mixed media), poet and photographer. The challenge of composing and capturing moments with my digital camera has ignited my passion for photography.
I have been active in the art community for more than 40 years. Now I am Chair of the Seaside Artists Association. The Seaside Artists Association was formed in February 2012 to provide events and venues for Seaside's artists to show and sell their artwork. The Annual Seaside Artists Tour is held in May.
I am Art Director for the City of Seaside and Exhibit Coordinator for the Avery Gallery at Seaside City Hall. This is my dream job that I trained for most of my life. I am also a founding member of Open Ground Studio on Fremont Street.

In the summer of 2010, I started Gray's Photo Tours to provide guided photographic tours or classes for visitors to this scenic area and portraits at locations of their choice. I enjoy covering events in my community with photography to record the good times in this gorgeous area.
My motto is: "I specialize in NOT specializing."
Using any one medium becomes restrictive or just plain boring. I get great satisfaction from mastering a technique tied to a new material. I paint at home or join Gayle Tier's Sunday painting group. If I don't make an appointment to paint, life gets in my way.
My home is filled with my art and all the art materials I want to try. Art supplies sit there waiting for me to explore them. Sometimes they call me and I answer, by using them. Now I have a space to create. It's exciting!
